A Concept Born from History

A Concept Born from History

This innovative musical project is inspired by real-life events from the life of Gauguin, an artist who left behind the comforts of Paris in 1889 to immerse himself in the untouched nature of Latin America. His arrival in Taboga, known as "the island of flowers," marked a crucial moment in his search for new forms of artistic expression.

"I was intrigued by the fact that a French painter decided to come to Latin America at that time. His curiosity for the unknown and the magic surrounding Taboga fascinated me," says the creator of this musical project.

Six Songs, Six Chapters of a Story

-"Chamán": Describes a mystical experience where Gauguin is taken by a young woman named Ana to a hidden cave, where he meets a shaman and his followers, surrounded by torches, rocks, and enigmatic rituals.

  • "Isla Psicotrópica": A hallucinogenic episode in which the shaman drugs Gauguin, plunging him into a psychedelic trance, during which he is robbed and assaulted in the midst of confusion.

  • "Islas": The lyrical song of the album, reflecting on the eternal search for inspiration and human introspection, addressing themes of solitude and individualism.

  • "Madera y Agua": The final track captures the moment when Gauguin, after being beaten and abandoned, finds beauty in the reflection of the moon on the sea and transforms his pain into art. This final piece symbolizes how suffering can inspire artistic creation. The album consists of six tracks, each representing a key episode in Gauguin's experience in Taboga:

  • "Lamar": This first track captures Gauguin's journey across the Atlantic Ocean and his deep longing to find inspiration in the untouched beauty of the tropics.

  • "Pasillo de Casa": Narrates the moment when the painter sets foot on the shores of Taboga and is captivated by its beauty, realizing he has found what he was searching for.

A Project that Fuses Art and Sound

"Brushstrokes Turn into Sounds" is not just a concert; it is a sensory experience that immerses the audience in the journey of an artist who defied conventions in his endless quest for beauty. Through music, visuals, and dance, the audience can explore Gauguin's mind and his encounter with the unknown in Taboga.
